Bash, who is four years old at the moment I’m writing this, LOVES books! he can’t get enough of them. He can’t read yet, at least not that we know of since he still isn’t talking. He can recognize simple words like “BOO!” and “read” them, but he’s not going to crack openWar and Peace” anytime soon. Heck, even I haven’t cracked that one open.

Bash in his book nook.

All that to say we read A TON of children’s books. Some of them are amazing. Some of them are terrible. Many of them are mediocre. But isn’t that the same with everything? Goldilocks, etc.

There’s one book that Bash loves called “Oh, Dear!” by Rod Campbell. It’s a simple concept and it’s brilliant!

Bash loves to say, “Oh, Dear!” when prompted to by the book. In any case, the protagonist’s name is “Buster.” I love that name for a kid in a children’s book. It’s off-kilter yet recognizable. I HAD to use it for this little satirical piece.
