Oddballs: Canine Candidates

If you take a step back, politics can seem like a bunch of dogs barking at each other. On the surface, that seems silly. Yet, do the dogs have unique reasons for their bark?

When it comes to our leaders, what we really need is the right person for the job. Part of the discernment is knowing what the job actually needs. That sounds obvious but it gets overlooked by so many of us. We focus on how much we like the candidate instead of whether the candidate is fit for the position.

If you want a furry companion to carry in your purse, you would do well with a chihuahua. If you want to protect your house from roving intruders, you may want to get a rottweiler. A chihuahua does not strike fear into the hearts of criminals and, conversely, if you want to carry your rottweiler to brunch, you’re going to need a really big purse.
