Oddballs: Coyote Ugly

Full disclosure: I like the movie “Coyote Ugly.” When I tell people that fact about me, some think I’m a bit odd. I am. But it’s a good movie, albeit cheesy. I think a lot of people simply haven’t seen it and think it’s only about girls who dance on a bar top. They miss the story underneath that façade. In fact, the story is about an artist who has to take a gig to survive, which happens to be dancing on a bar top.

If you’re an artist, you realize the things you have to do while trying to make art your main source of income. On top of that, many of us simply don’t make enough from our art to cover our needs, much less the needs of a family. So we work at a job and continue to work at our art.

All that said, I’d be the worst person to dance on a bar top.
